Morris has been involved in the electrical trade for 35 years. He started with Canem in 1990 and has worked in various roles. Morris established the Red Deer division while becoming the branch manager. He was promoted to Vice President, Construction in 2010 and Regional Vice President, British Columbia in 2014.


Brendan Kelly

Brendan is the Branch Manager for Canem’s Vancouver Branch. Employed with Canem since 1999, Brendan started as an apprentice and progressed into the roles of foreman, field superintendent and project management. Brendan received his Master Electrician certification in 2005.

Brendan is an avid sports fan who does his best to stay active through recreational sports and CrossFit.  In the summer months, he likes to play golf.

Dale is the Branch Manager for the Victoria Branch and started his Electrical apprenticeship with Canem Victoria Division in 1980. He progressed through the field positions of Serviceman and Foreman, and in 1995 came into the office to be a Project Manager of both Service work and large scale projects. In 2000 Dale became an ‘A’ ticket electrician.

Camping with his family, helping with his 2 daughter’s ball teams and working on his property are how Dale enjoys spending his personal time.

 

Les Hodgson

Les Hodgson is responsible for the Business Development throughout the Island.  Les has been with Canem Systems since starting his trade and has accumulated over 40 years of experience in the electrical industry.

As a highly respected authority in the design/build process, Les achieved the Illuminating Engineer’s Society awards for three design/build projects in 2005 including Quality Foods Campbell River, Quality Foods Qualicum and the Rix Centre for Ocean Discovery.
As a seasoned professional, Les is one of Canem’s chosen mentors to the next generation of electricians and management personnel working in the company today.

During his spare time, Les finds enjoyment in NASCAR racing and fishing.

 

Southern Alberta

Andy Carr

Regional Vice President, Southern Alberta

Andy is the Regional Vice President for Southern Alberta which also includes oversight of the Calgary Branch. His responsibilities include the overall supervision of construction projects and field programs, including all preplans, contract management and personnel. Employed with Canem since 1989, Andy started as an apprentice and progressed into the roles of foreman, superintendent and project management.

Andy received his Master Electrician certificate in 2007 and Gold Seal Superintendent certification in 2008.  Andy sits on the board of the Canadian Construction Association and represents the Electrical Construction Association of Calgary.

Andy's personal interests include camping, sports, and working on his acreage.

Colin Barclay

Colin started in the electrical industry in 1991 and began his career with Canem in 1998. He has progressed into the roles of Foreman, Field Superintendent, Project Management and Construction Manager before being promoted to the Branch Manager role in 2016. Colin obtained his Master Electrician certificate in 2000 and Gold Seal Certificate in 2010.

Colin enjoys spending time with his family, and spending time outdoors where indulges his love of golf, skiing and fishing.

 

Dustin Christensen

Dustin started his career with Canem in 2003 through the Registered Apprenticeship Program. He received his Red Seal Journeyman Certificate in 2007 and his Master Electrician Certification in 2016.He has progressed into the roles of Foreman, Service/Safety Co-ordinator, Project Manager and Senior Project Manager in 2014. Dustin is always ready for a challenge and pushes himself to excel.

As an active member of the construction community in Red Deer, Dustin sits on the Red Deer Construction Association as an Executive Director and 1 st Vice President. He also achieved his Gold Seal Certificate as a Project Manager in 2016.

Dustin enjoys spending time with his family, everything hockey, golf and being active with his two energetic young sons.

 

Shawn Pasemko

Shawn is the Operations Manager for Canem’s Lethbridge Branch. Shawn has begun his electrical career in 2000. He has received his Master’s in 2009. Shawn’s previous roles include, Site Foreman, Site superintendent, Project Manager, Branch Manager. Shawn has a background in Commercial and Light Industrial electrical installations. Shawn has joined Canem in May of 2016.

Shawn enjoys spending time with his Family. He enjoys playing Golf, hockey and Baseball.

 

 

Northern Alberta

Brian Alexander

Brian joined Canem in 1991.  With a background of industrial and commercial estimating, Brian’s successes with Canem include project management and construction manager roles.  Brian became the Branch manager in 2002 and is responsible for leading and managing all performance aspects of the Branch.  Under Brian's leadership, Canem has established itself as a major player in the Edmonton market.

In his spare time, Brian and his family find enjoyment in raising thoroughbred race horses.

Brett Harke

Edmonton Branch Manager

Brett began his career with Canem in 2004 and is currently the Branch Manager for Canem’s Edmonton Division. Always striving for excellence, Brett provides leadership for the division and is a key contributor to marketing and selling of Canem services and products at a senior industry level. His responsibilities include the administration and supervision of the successful progress and achievements of financial and non-financial objectives of the Edmonton Division.

Brett enjoys spending time with his family and being active. Brett is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing golf, baseball, and curling.

 

Saskatchewan

Rick Bzdel

Rick is the Operations Manager for the Saskatchewan Branch. Being involved in the electrical industry for over 30 years in the Saskatchewan market, Rick has been involved on a wide variety of industrial, commercial and institutional projects. In his off time, Rick enjoys spending time at the lake or camping and travelling with his family.

Rick also coaches a variety of sports and is involved in many different volunteer organizations.

 

Manitoba

Darryl Matlo

Darryl is the Branch Manager for Canem’s Winnipeg Branch.  Darryl participates in providing leadership for the division and is a key contributor to marketing and selling of Canem services and products at a senior industry level. Darryl started his apprenticeship with Canem in 1991 and progressed into the roles of foreman, project management becoming Operations Manager in 2011.

Darryl earned his Master Electrician certificate in 2003 and Gold Seal Project Manager in 2012. During his spare time Darryl enjoys travelling and camping with his family, hitting the links and fly fishing.

 

National Rollout Division


Brian Van Herk

Brian is responsible for the overall operations of the National Rollout Division. 

Brian began his apprenticeship with Hodgson Electric in 1993, earning his journeyman status in 1997. As a result of the Hodgson Electric purchase in 1998, Brian joined the Canem team. Having over 15 years of experience in the electrical industry, Brian joined the Nanaimo branch in 2001 as a Project Manager where he provided his skill and expertise in overseeing diverse projects before taking on his role in managing the Rollout Division.  

Brian won top apprentice honours for BC during his apprenticeship training and is Gold Seal certified.

Brian can be found spending family time camping in the summer and coaching both his kids in minor hockey in the winter. During his spare time, Brian enjoys playing guitar, woodwork and recently started playing hockey himself.
