represents the biggest land development in the City of Victoria’s
history. The developers are seeking LEED platinum certification—the
highest level of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design—for the
entire development. As of 2010 the first phase garnered LEED Platinum
designation with a world-record setting score of 63 out of a possible 70
points.
Canem engineering helped the Parkside Resort and Spa
win five awards at the 2010 Canadian Home Builders' Association CARE
Awards, including the top honour: “CARE Project of the Year.” The
project has also been awarded a “5 Green Key rating” (the highest
rating) in the Green Key Global Eco-Rating Program. Parkside is
currently pursuing a platinum rating in the Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. To date, just two other
lodging facilities in North America have earned the Platinum honour.
