Project type: This was the first time in Western Canada that a project of this type was being built so there were no “templates” that could be used for reference. Canem was instrumental in bringing a good knowledge and understanding of the various processes to the design side of the building. Canem had previously built welding shops, machine shops, chroming facilities, paint booths and degreasing facilities. With this solid and varied background Canem was able to provide “common sense” solutions to many issues that arose during the course of construction.

Schedule: The timeline of the project was very tight with design proceeding construction by only a couple of weeks. The design and construction team were able to complete this project in 14 months.
Canem’s “can do” attitude was instrumental in bringing the project to the Client’s scheduled completion time. At given times, there were up to 50 electricians on site, which gave Canem the flexibility to work in several areas at one time.

Design: Design-build types of projects have the challenge of doing the work correctly without always knowing what the final design may look like. Our pre-plan system of breaking down every job to the finest detail allows us to do our work correctly the “first time”. This eliminates costly and time consuming reworking of improperly installed work.
